In ancient times the High King was seen as the right hand of the Creator and sometimes he was even worshiped as a minor deity. Happily such heretical thinking was suppressed by the High Kings themselves as they continually maintained that they were nothing more than servants of the Creator.
High King Caran was the arguably noblest of the High Kings. He took his role as protector of Weyland seriously. He was of the mind that the Creator saw the people of Weyland as being it's true treasure. The result of this ideology was that Caran worked tirelessly to make the land of Weyland a just place for it's people. He would not hesitate to remove a lord that treated the people in his charge poorly. However he was not overbearing in his rule.
